A few new photos

While at the family reunion this past weekend in Tyler, I made some adorable little hats (which you can buy from me on etsy) for a few of the kiddos. So (naturally) I had to take some photos of them, in all of their adorableness. And I've thrown in a few family ones as well.

Great weather, great family, no drama. Great time! :)

Earth Day!

It's Earth Day, people. In the words of Cher on Clueless, 'we ought to do something for the planet for a few hours...'

I spotted this on Design*Sponge this morning and immediately went and bought one. I have a feeling that I'll be purchasing a few more of these. They are super-cute and WAY better than plastic bags.

The Paquettes and Friends

On Saturday, I trekked out to Buffalo Gap an hour ahead of my scheduled shoot with Dave & Amy, just to scout out the place. I am SO glad I did, I found a couple of places tucked away that I absolutely LOVED. Ryan & Sarah Hughes met up with us about an hour into the shoot (friends of the Paquettes). Amy and Sarah are due within 3 days of each other. We got some really cute shots of both couples (and both bellies!), and some great ones of Eli, Dave & Amy's son.

Here are some of my favorites!

springtime craziness

Last weekend was a whirlwind, and it won't slow down until after May.

Last night I had a computer repair call at 5, a laptop to completely take apart/repair/put back together (and it works now, yay!), and had to work on tonight's event.

Tonight I've got a table at the ACU Arts & Crafts fair. I was planning on selling coffee mugs and whatnot, but with all the busyness of the past few weeks, I didn't get them done in time. SO tonight it's all about crochet. I've got hats, bracelets, a neckwarmer or two, and iPod socks. I'll try to post some photos of the iPod socks, they are too cute! Makes me want an iPhone reeeeaaal bad, but until Apple gets smart and expands outside of AT&T, sigh, all I can do is dream about them.

Tomorrow I have a surveillance call in the morning, possibly taking my car to be looked at, and then a maternity/family shoot with the Paquettes. So far Sunday is looking pretty clear, but that could change.

Next weekend I'm off to east Texas for the Jones family reunion. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing everybody, and getting to relax for a few days. I need to work on some photos/jewelry/pottery for the silent auction. Eek! Guess that's what I'll be doing on Sunday!

The first weekend in May will be Carol's wedding shower, then the next weekend is Carol and James's wedding. I think the next weekend is free, and then the 23rd is Jennifer's wedding (taking photos at this one).

The Balderas Family

I love facebook!! Beth and I were friends in high school, and we lost touch after leaving Duncan. We recently found each other on facebook, and last weekend I went down to Houston to see some friends, then jetted over to Galveston to do a family shoot with Beth and her beautiful (and funny) family. It was SO good to see you Beth! Hopefully soon we can really catch up. The weather really cooperated (yay!), here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

UT - Big 12 Champs*

*in their dreams!

Red River Football: Texas Claims Big 12 Championship with an *

by Jake Trotter
published April 5, 2009

The Texas Longhorns still won't concede the 2008 Big 12 championship.

Prominently displayed on a wall inside the Texas Moncrief-Neuhaus training facility is a list of the Longhorns' Big 12 and South Division championships.

According to the Austin-American Statesman, the Longhorns have included 2008 among their Big 12 championships - with an asterisk.

Last season, OU edged out Texas and Texas Tech for the South title in a three-way tie determined by the BCS Standings, despite a fervent protest from Texas coach Mack Brown and Longhorn fans. The Longhorns claimed that because they defeated OU head-to-head, they deserved to go the Big 12 title game - despite the fact they also lost to Texas Tech, which created the three-way-tie.

On the last week of the regular season, Texas fans even paid for a flyover in Stillwater before the Bedlam game to remind voters of Texas' 45-35 win over OU in the Cotton Bowl.

Nevertheless, the Sooners went on to beat Missouri in Kansas City, MO to win their unprecedented third-consecutive Big 12 Championship.

Apparently, that victory is still not being acknowledged in Austin.

Said one school official to the Statesman, "We beat both teams (OU and North Division winner Missouri). I thought that (championship game in Kansas City) was for the runner-up spot."

Bahahahaha.

Seriously? Come on guys...

April Fools madness!

I freakin' love April Fool's Day, mostly cause I get to use the word 'hijinks.' That's a great word.

Speaking of hijinks...I decided that our oft-neglected office mascots were in need of a little flair today. Don't they look nice?

I also conspired with a friend on facebook and changed my status to 'engaged' for the day. I honestly cannot believe how many people bought it. Now, to be fair to my out-of-townies, how could they know? But to you Abilenians...come on! Too hilarious!! To officially end our 'engagement' we had a violent breakup. Again, over facebook. Ya gotta love facebook.

Alex was busy in Austin last night. He was MUCH more clever than I:
