Last night, I had dinner with some friends. Z made us lasagna, which was really good. He was talking about the work he had done that day, he and his brother are re-doing someone's deck. Apparently somebody built the thing partly out of fiber-board, which is ridiculous for an outside deck. His brother makes some comment about how they must have built it just for them (to fix). Z says, "I don't think he built the deck. He's owned the house since he bought it." Umm, yeah. That makes total sense.
I look around at the others sitting at the table, waiting for some comment on what he just said, but I was the only one who caught it. Yeah. Good times.

Joe's dad and stepmom are coming to stay with us for the New Years. I'm excited to cook for everybody... we'll probably play board games and then on New Years Eve we'll go to this nice little bar that does karaoke. My husband and I both love to sing and his parents enjoy listening and drinking so it should be a good time. Have fun going out!
